Lightweight cottonwood dish. Hand carved with intentional gouge marks left inside bowl and on underside. Makes a perfect garlic altar. Happy, footed companion in the kitchen. 

Cottonwood is a deciduous tree but surprisingly soft when compared to other deciduous trees. This makes the dish much lighter in weight and more prone to staining than its hardwood counterparts. It will darken slightly over time with oxidation and UV exposure. A unique addition to your wooden ware collection.

Finished in VH’s own food-safe and all-natural blend of mineral oil and beeswax. Although these dishes are food-safe, they are not intended to be used in a way that will require them to be washed like other working wood. They have not undergone the normal grain-raising process that other kitchen-bound wood goes through.
